Most expensive painting sold at action as of 20191. Attributed to Leonardo, however the provenance and attribution are debated (many ascribe it to his workshop with some aspects painted by him). Resurfaced in 2005, restored over the following decade and sold to a Russian oligarch, Dimitry Robolovlev. Robolovlev sold it to Badr bin Abdullah acting on behalf of Mohammed bin Salman. The restoration process was also hotly debated given the poor condition of the paiting and the extensive cleaning and re-painting performed by Dianne Modestini.
