There is a shortwave radio station that broadcasts a consistent buzzing noise. It is periodically interrupted by sporadic and unpredictable Russian voice broadcasts. It’s been theorized that it is a dead man’s switch for nuclear retaliatory response, perhaps similar to the the dead hand. A similar transmission method is used in numbers stations.
