In 2023 Shopify had a meeting purge where all recurring meetings with more than two people were removed. This is followed by a two week cooling off period after which people can decide to reinstate the meeting. The idea being that it is hard to break out of the status quo and declaring meeting bankruptcy allows people to re-opt in to what is important1.
