Look for projects that do not obey the the principle of requisite variety, i.e. projects where the complexity of the operation far outweighs the complexity of the controlling mechanism1. For example, if you are trying to create rules to control a situation but the situation has many edge cases or complexities you will be forced to create rules for all of these. If you lack the resources or the edge cases are infinite, you will fail.
