A pattern for fixing a broken team1:
- Diagnose the issues and stick to it.
- Bring in a new manager either a junior ambitious manager who can grind it out or an experienced manager who will view the opprotunity as a spring board.
- The Manager must:
- fix broken process and run them well
- Manage out cynical culture carriers
- Get in the weeds and learn the system
- Hire at least some new teammates
- make sure the mission is good
