The C.A.R.E.S. framework is a coaching framework for improving under-performing employees. This is a practical (success driven) plan for improvement performance as oppossed to the bureaucratic performance improvement plans (PIP) crafted by HR geared towards exiting an employee1.
- Communication: Set a clear understanding of underperformance
- Accountability: Ensure the report understands their responsibilities
- Roadmap: Develop a plan to improve performance with granular tasks and milestones
- Execution: Execute upon the plan, tracking progress and evaluating regularly
- Support: Train and check in during one on ones
